The best AI visibility tool for a SaaS company is the one that tracks the prompts that come right before a demo request: "best X for Y", "X vs Y", "alternatives to X" and "does X integrate with Y". TrendlyAI ($19/mo), Peec AI ($95/mo), Otterly.AI, LLMrefs ($79/mo), SE Visible and Semrush all do this, with different engines, limits and prices.
Key takeaways๐
- SaaS buyers ask AI assistants for shortlists, head-to-head comparisons and alternatives. Those three prompt types are where you win or lose deals, so track them first.
-
Integration questions ("which help desk tools work with Salesforce?") are a fourth prompt type many teams forget to track.
-
Engine coverage, prompt limits and scan frequency vary a lot. Daily tracking and wide engine lists cost more.
-
If your team already lives in Looker Studio or Google Analytics, check which plans include those connectors before you buy.
-
We build TrendlyAI, so weigh that. Every competitor detail below was checked on the vendor's own site in October 2026.
What do SaaS teams need from an AI visibility tool?๐
SaaS teams need an AI visibility tool that tracks the questions buyers ask while building a shortlist, and shows which competitors get named when you do not. A SaaS purchase usually starts with research, and more of that research now happens inside ChatGPT, which OpenAI says has 1.2 billion weekly users. If an assistant names three of your competitors and not you, you may never see that buyer in your pipeline.
Four prompt types matter most for software:
-
Category prompts. "Best project management software for a 20-person agency." These build the shortlist.
-
Comparison prompts. "Asana vs Monday for client work." The buyer already knows two names and wants a tiebreaker.
-
Alternatives prompts. "Cheaper alternatives to Zendesk." This is where challengers win deals from incumbents, and where incumbents lose them.
-
Integration prompts. "Which CRM works with QuickBooks and Gmail?" Buyers filter by stack, and assistants often answer from integration directories and review sites.
A useful tool lets you write these prompts yourself, track a few named competitors against them, and see which sources the engines cite. The citation data matters because it tells you where to act: a G2 category page, a Reddit thread, a comparison article from a competitor. Our guide to AI search visibility for B2B SaaS covers the content side in more depth.

1. TrendlyAI: for SaaS teams that want the fix, not just the chart๐
We build TrendlyAI, so weigh that. TrendlyAI shows whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews name your product or your competitors when buyers ask, and flags the gaps where a competitor is recommended and you are not. For each gap it drafts a fix: a comparison page, an FAQ page with schema, a Reddit answer, an llms.txt file, a best-of list or a product page rewrite. Later scans detect when you win a citation.
For SaaS, that maps well to the work that moves comparison and alternatives prompts. Solo is $19/mo ($16/mo billed yearly) for 1 brand, 25 prompts, 2 competitors and 10 fix drafts a month. Pro is $49/mo ($39/mo yearly) for 3 brands, 5 competitors per brand, unlimited fix drafts and Reddit thread detail, which helps if your category gets discussed on Reddit.
The weak points are real. It tracks only 4 engines, with no Gemini, Grok, Copilot or Google AI Mode. It scans weekly with 1 sample per prompt per engine, so it shows trends, not daily swings. It has no prompt-volume data, so it will not tell you which prompts are asked most. It is a young product with few public reviews and a small team. TrendlyAI tracks its own domain, and I publish our score, which is low. There is a 7-day free trial with no credit card, and no free plan.
2. Peec AI: for marketing teams that want daily data and analytics links๐
Peec AI's Starter plan is $95/mo for 50 prompts, 1 project and daily tracking. You choose 3 active models at a time from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Every plan lists Google Analytics and CDN integrations (Vercel, Cloudflare and others), which help connect AI visibility to actual AI crawler and referral activity. API access starts on Pro at $245/mo, and the Data Studio connector on Advanced at $495/mo. Perplexity and Claude appear in the model list on Enterprise. Our Peec AI alternative post goes deeper.
3. Otterly.AI: for daily checks, with reporting on Standard๐
Otterly's Lite plan is $29/mo for 15 prompts with daily tracking on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Fifteen prompts is tight for a SaaS company with several use cases and competitors. Standard at $189/mo gives 100 prompts plus API access and a Looker Studio connector, which matters if your marketing team reports from Looker. Google AI Mode and Gemini cost $59/mo each extra on Standard, and Claude costs $109/mo extra. See our Otterly alternative post.
4. LLMrefs: for the most prompts and engines per dollar๐
LLMrefs has one plan at $79/mo with 500 prompts, unlimited projects and team members, CSV export and API access. Its pricing page lists 11 platforms, including ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot and Meta AI, with weekly keyword updates. If you want to track a long list of comparison and alternatives prompts across many engines and build fixes yourself, it is strong value. There is a 7-day free trial with no credit card.
5. SE Visible: for daily tracking with reporting connectors๐
SE Visible, from SE Ranking, starts at $89/mo ($71/mo billed yearly) for 75 prompts with daily tracking on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and Copilot. Every plan includes unlimited seats, unlimited competitors, a Data Studio connector, API and MCP access, and a 10-day free trial. It does not list Perplexity. Core is $189/mo for 200 prompts.
6. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: if your SEO team already uses Semrush๐
Semrush's help page lists the AI Visibility Toolkit at $99/mo for 1 domain and 25 prompts, with 50 more prompts for $60/mo and daily prompt tracking. It names ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Gemini. It makes the most sense when your team already does keyword and competitor research in Semrush and wants AI data in the same place.
7. Profound: for large SaaS companies with an enterprise budget๐
Profound has no public self-serve price. Its pricing page shows a free 7-day trial (50 prompts tracked daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews) and a custom Enterprise plan that tracks up to 9 engines, with SSO/SAML and SOC 2. It suits larger teams with procurement processes, not a seed-stage startup.
How should a SaaS team set up its prompt list?๐
A SaaS team should build its prompt list from the questions sales already hears, not from its SEO keyword list. Start with 25 prompts, which is enough to cover most products:
- 8 to 10 category prompts. Your category plus a buyer detail: team size, industry, budget or a key feature. "Best invoicing software for freelance designers."
-
5 to 6 comparison prompts. Your product against the two or three competitors you meet most often in deals, plus the top two competitors against each other.
-
5 to 6 alternatives prompts. "Alternatives to [market leader]" and "cheaper alternatives to [market leader]." If you are the market leader, track your own name here too.
-
3 to 4 integration prompts. "Best [category] tool that integrates with [the platform your buyers use most]."
Then pick your competitors carefully. The useful signal is not your overall score, it is the specific prompts where a competitor is named and you are not. Our guide to competitor AI visibility analysis shows how to read that data.
What do you do after you find the gaps?๐
You close a gap by publishing or earning the source that AI engines draw on for that prompt. For SaaS, the fixes that come up most are:
- Fair comparison pages. "[You] vs [Competitor]" pages that state honest tradeoffs, with a table. Engines tend to skip one-sided pages.
-
Alternatives pages. A page that lists real alternatives to the market leader, including you, with clear "best for" lines.
-
Integration pages. One page per major integration, with what it does and how to set it up. These answer integration prompts directly.
-
FAQ pages with schema. Short answers to pricing, security and setup questions. See our guide to schema markup for AI citations.
-
Third-party presence. Review sites and Reddit threads show up often in AI answers for software, so being present and helpful there matters.
Track the same prompts for at least a few weeks after each fix. AI answers vary between runs, so one scan is not proof that something worked. All our guides on this live on the GEO hub.
How do you choose between these tools?๐
Choose based on the limit that will hurt you most:
- Tight budget, want fixes drafted: TrendlyAI Solo or Pro.
-
Want many prompts and engines, will write fixes yourself: LLMrefs.
-
Need daily data and analytics or Looker Studio reporting: Peec AI, Otterly Standard or SE Visible.
-
Already pay for Semrush: the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit.
-
Enterprise with security reviews: Profound.
Before you pay for anything, run the free TrendlyAI check. It needs no signup, takes about 30 seconds and runs 5 prompts on ChatGPT and Perplexity, so you can see whether you have a problem worth tracking.
Frequently asked questions๐
What is the best AI visibility tool for a SaaS startup?๐
For an early-stage startup, a low-cost tool with fix suggestions is usually enough. TrendlyAI Solo is $19/mo for 25 prompts on 4 engines, and LLMrefs is $79/mo for 500 prompts on many engines. We build TrendlyAI, so weigh that, and try the free trials before you decide.
Which prompts should a SaaS company track in ChatGPT?๐
Track category prompts ("best X for Y"), comparison prompts ("X vs Y"), alternatives prompts ("alternatives to X") and integration prompts ("X that works with Y"). These are the questions buyers ask while building a shortlist.
Do SaaS companies need daily AI visibility tracking?๐
Usually not at first. AI answers change between runs, and most SaaS teams ship a few content changes a month. Weekly data shows whether a fix worked. Daily tracking helps larger teams that run many experiments at once.
Which AI visibility tools have a Looker Studio connector?๐
As of October 2026, Otterly.AI includes a Data Studio (Looker Studio) connector on Standard and above, Peec AI on Advanced, and SE Visible on every plan. TrendlyAI offers white-label PDF reports and share links instead.
Can an AI visibility tool show prompt search volume?๐
TrendlyAI does not show prompt volume, and none of the pricing pages we checked for this post list it as a core feature. If a tool shows a volume number, ask how it is estimated before you plan around it.
